MSU Guide 1.2.9

Guide is a new tool developed at the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) that offers an innovative way to navigate and explore Michigan State University's (MSU) campus in East Lansing. Designed to assist individuals with visual, spatial, and mobility impairments, Guide provides real-time location-aware information about campus landmarks, making it beneficial for all users.

Guide provides three essential tools to help students, employees, and visitors identify key campus areas while walking:

• WAND: This feature allows users to point their phone at any campus building to unveil its name, along with additional information including wheelchair-accessible entrances.
• MAP: Users can access a detailed campus map, allowing them to drop pins on specific landmarks and utilize a compass that directs them to the nearest landmark of interest.
• SEARCH: By using the iOS home screen search function (Spotlight), users can easily locate any campus building by name. Once the desired building is found, selecting it enables the app to provide directional support relative to the user's current location. Detailed directions to a landmark can also be viewed through Spotlight navigation results.
